Streaming or media streaming is a method for sending files so that they can be handled as a balanced and ongoing stream. Streaming automation is becoming very important with the increase of the Internet because most consumers do not have speedy access to download bulky files quickly. With streaming, the user browser or plug-in can start showing the files before the whole file has been live streamed. For streaming to work, the user side gathering the files must be able to gather the files and send it as a balanced stream to the request that is processing the files and changing it to sound or pictures. This means that if the streaming users receive the files more frequently than needed, it needs to save the excess files in a buffer. If the file doesn’t come frequently enough, the display of the data will not be smooth.
There are many challenging streaming automations arising. For audio data on the Internet, the de facto standard is ongoing Network’s RealAudio. Abstracted as TS or MPEG-TS, transport stream is an audio, video and data correspondence transmission protocol that is specified in MPEG-2 Part 1. The transport stream allows for multiplexing of the digital video and audio, which means the data, is joined into a one unit identical transmission bit stream, for transmission over a difference of standard mediums such as DSL, IP, IPv, Ethernet, Cable TV networks, and more. The transport stream is designed to address only the dispatch. Cache applications use the program stream.
Intelligent Printer Data Stream (IPDS) is the host-to-printer file stream used by IBM’s System Application Architecture (SAA) for Advanced Function Printing (AFP). The IPDS architecture explains the file stream used by print server programs and instrument drivers to organize all-points-addressable page printing on a full scale of devices from low-end workstation and local area network-attached (LAN-attached) printers to high-speed, high-volume page printers for production jobs, shared printing, and mailroom applications.
